#ReviewNotReview Watched: BAM! New Ham! The Society (S1, 2019)
Hello!
(Update 3/10/20, NETFLIX CANCELLED THE SHOW. WE WILL NEVER KNOW THE TRUTH! SUCKS!)
This is my first time writing about what I finished watching, usually, I like to give commentary via twitter. This time I want to try writing a review but not a review, so maybe it's commentary but in the form of a paragraph. Disclaimer, what I write will definitely be in the form of personal opinion, I mean, at the end of the day I don't know if anyone will read this article, so it doesn't really make any difference. I won't be sure if there will be spoilers or not (but I think there will be) so yeah, here goes nothing ...

In short, this series tells the story of a group of teenagers who originally wanted to go on a field trip but didn't make it and were dropped back to the city where they live, but it wasn't. The city looks exactly the same, but there are no other people besides them. Parallel Universe ??? I don't know, I'm dying to know myself (Season 2 come fast! - not gonna happen)
Unfortunately, at the end of episode 10, there is a kind of clue - but not a clue - because of whatever a mystery tv series without mystery. So, if in my opinion these teenagers were trapped in a parallel universe or they actually died in an accident on the bus they were traveling on for a field trip, then yes, they are in a world that is no longer this world, a kind of afterlife (?) But I don't know, there might be a more complicated reason than just a parallel world or they died, but maybe it's that simple. We'll see Season 2 yes: ") (I repeat, not gonna happen).
*Here's some interesting articles:
The discussion is going to be back and forth, just because. Hehehe. At the beginning of the show, episodes 1 - 2 I felt that the plot was slow as if it were so tight. Starting from episode 3 the pace starts to be okay. Overall, in my opinion, the story is worth watching, because it is really fun but it doesn't really make you think too hard you earn yourself a headache, sometimes the characters are annoying, obviously *roll my eyes*.
There are several main characters here, Cassandra, Allie, Will, Goldie, Kelly, Sam, Becca, Harry, Campbell, Elle, Luke, Helena, Grizz, Clark, and Jason, these are the characters that I thought at the beginning helped build the base of the story and often appear and their role is quite important. I'll talk about my 'feelings' for the characters, if it's a matter of their relationship with each other, just watch it, guys.
Cassandra is the first 'leader', she is portrayed as mature and can think 'straight' - a leader material, but sometimes I get frustrated with her, like "Wait, what?" Sometimes she sucks, she's too soft, she finds it hard to be decisive. Then, there is Allie, her sister, who took over her position because she was shot dead. Allie is the most frustrating one because basically, she is unstable, annoying, sometimes she can't make up her damn mind, I mean I get that she's just a teenager, shit happens and you have no idea what to do (I kinda forgot what it feels like to be a teenager).
Will is ... earlier in the show; indecisive, at first he didn't like Allie, he liked Kelly, but apparently, he loved Allie, hft. Sometimes this kid also likes to be too nosy. Harry is a-hole most of the time, I'm hoping to see his character grow in the next season though (nope, not gonna happen), while Campbell is simply a psychopath.
At this point Goldie and Kelly could become whatever they want, Sam is the sweetest he is with Grizz. I think Grizz is one of the best characters of all, personality-wise he is a good kid, I love Grizz! In my opinion, the Grizz nickname fits perfectly because the actors are big like the bear in We Bare Bear. Elle feels sorry for herself because she was trapped in a toxic relationship - her boyfriend is a psychopath. I think her character will make a plot twist in the next season, we'll see (we won't). Luke can actually be a dream guy too, but unfortunately in the end he becomes annoying, he and Helena are quite couples' goals. Clark and Jason ware kind of a-hole too, you'll see.
Luke, Grizz, Clark, and Jason are members of The Guard, they are basically their high school football teammates, in New Ham their job is to maintain security, in my opinion, they are typical jocks who are actually in their normal life, are good and not the ones most depicted in other stories. There is one character who suddenly becomes important, Lexie, well, this girl is really annoying kind of a B, I can't wait to see how hard she is in Season 2, hehe (Won't see anything at all). All those who live in West Ham are children who are full of privileges, so, being thrown into a world where they have to try even harder and by themselves, it's like they are shocked, at the beginning of the show they were still partying, smh.
I think The Society has an interesting story, I wonder what I would be like if I were in their position. I also imagine how chaotic the world will be if there are no rules - everyone acts as they please, but again, the intention when making the rules must be good. it's actually such a hassle, taking care of a group of people, but if there is no one step-up to lead, it's going to be chaotic.
*BTW, I don't know when I will write something like this again, but I hope we'll meet in another writing. I have actually watched quite a lot of series but unfortunately the will to write about it is so little back then.
I REPEAT THERE WILL BE NO SEASON 2, THE SHOW IS CANCELLED.
